Being aware of this environmental problem, we are continuously monitoring our emissions and seeking solutions to minimize our carbon footprint, which is the amount of greenhouse gases (GHG) we emit.
The energy of the Facens University Center is produced by 100% renewable sources, counting on the generation of energy from the photovoltaic system and the purchase of 100% renewable energy in the free electricity market.
50% of our buildings have water consumption monitored in real time!
CORESO (Cooperative of Recycling in Sorocaba) and Celso Marcelo da Silva from the Facens team are responsible for the collection and proper disposal of our recyclable materials.
At Facens, we diverted from landfills:
60,8% of all solid waste producedin 2021;
67,2% of all solid waste produced in 2022.
In 2022, more than 10 tons of solid waste were recycled.
Our students returned to campus in 2022 and their food waste too, however, with our infrastructure, we were able to keep 100% of the organic waste produced in the canteen and restaurant away from landfills!
In 2022: we managed to reuse 2021 kg of food waste.
