Climate change is considered one of the greatest threats to our planet and humanity. Its consequences are already affecting various aspects of our lives, from health to the global economy. At Centro Universitário Facens, we have adopted several initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our daily activities, as well as to develop and implement new technologies for clean and renewable energy production.
We have a solar photovoltaic energy generation system with a nominal capacity of 225 kWp. This allows us to generate over 19% of all electrical energy consumed on campus from this renewable source.
In 2023, we reached an important milestone at Centro Universitário Facens: we began developing our Plano de Eficiência Energética (PEE – Energy Efficiency Plan) by implementing a control and management system for all electrical energy consumption on our campus.
This allows us to accurately quantify:
Our energy consumption stratified by the distribution system.
Savings generated by the photovoltaic system.
This comprehensive and precise view of our energy consumption facilitates the analysis of individual photovoltaic systems' efficiency and, in the future, the enhancement of energy efficiency across Centro Universitário Facens.
