With the Facens University Center Sustainability Report, we demonstrate the institution's commitment to being aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda. In it, you will be able to learn about our pillars for sustainability and main approaches to the topic, follow-up our progress and, through the Smart Campus® concept, understand how sustainability is implemented in our daily lives. Founded in 1976, Facens began as a technical college and became the first higher education institution in the area of Engineering in the city of Sorocaba. In these 47 years of existence, we have always been in full development. Today, we have 18 undergraduate courses in the areas of Engineering, Architecture, Technology, and Health, as well as Postgraduate courses, MBAs and Specializations.
Our level of education is recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC), we are a top grade (5), therefore, according to its indicators, we are one of the best higher education institutions in Brazil.
Moreover, we are a Smart Campus®, an innovative smart campus concept patented by Facens. In 2022, we were recognized for the second time in a row, by the UI Greenmetric International Ranking, as the most sustainable private higher education institution in Brazil. We support the movements Conscious Capitalism Brazil and Circular Economy and also became signatories of the UN Global Compact, which highlights the importance of sustainability for the organization.
All this meets our main goal, which is to develop more conscious and sustainable citizens and professionals who are prepared to deal with the social, economic, and environmental challenges of our planet.
At Facens University Center, our greatest mission is to guide our students, teachers, and other collaborators so that they develop a systemic vision and understand practically the importance of sustainability for transforming our present and building our future.
There fore, we promote education aligned with the social, environmental, and economic needs of our society and the planet.
In this way, our projects are divided into four pillars: Social, Economic, Environmental, and Education for a sustainable future. Each pillar is subdivided into priority themes that are directly connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda.
